Many of the older generation fear the internet, not because they think it will pose some sort of threat to themselves, but because they fear for their children, who are no doubt more apt to get into trouble on the internet. The rise of the internet and the simplicity with which it is instilled in our homes and our day to day lives has created an epidemic of virtual social experiences, it started in chat rooms and spread to things like forums, video games, and video streaming sites. Everywhere we turn on the internet we are bombarded by opinions left and right, insults fly on some of the less regulated websites, and chain letters spew from the mouths of the advertising bots. But beneath the veil of inane and stupid comments on the internet, there is a treasure trove of experience and information to be had on the internet, a freedom that is felt nowhere else, and a venue that allows people to voice their opinions, no matter how other people view them.
Digital media is fast becoming one of the most important sources of information, entertainment, and even revenue that can be found on the internet. Websites like Triond allow people with a voice to project that voice, it showcases them to the world, anybody can view their writing on the internet, and in many cases, anybody does. Websites like YouTube allow users to post their own videos where the same thing occurs, views views and more views.
Of course, the ease with which this media is allowed to disseminate can create problems if the internet users don’t know how to sift through the dirt and mud to find the golden nugget of information that they seek. This poses an especially potent risk for the younger generation, as the stereotype that children believe everything they find on the internet has a rather large kernel of truth embedded in it. Of course, this is no reason to leave the internet in the dust, there are reliable information websites out there, one just have to know where to find them.
Our society has transformed into a world society, we are connected to virtually every country in the world and whether this is because of the internet, or something that influenced the internet (probably both) it is a major, major pro to the presence of the internet in our society. Social networking sites allow people from all nationalities and from all countries to interact with each other, something that can definitely be viewed as a positive thing.
Entrepreneurial opportunities are open to anybody with a drive
