Step 1: Using a sharp knife, cut up the pomegranate into several smaller pieces.
Step 2: Using your hands or a spoon, carve out the pomegranate seeds from the flesh of the pomegranate. The seeds will look like little red berries. Be careful here, if the juice gets on your clothing it will cause a stain. And whatever you do, don't eat anything but the seeds; the flesh that encases the seeds tastes terrible.
Step 3: Place the seeds in a large bowl and enjoy. I suggest using a spoon to eat the berries because the juice is quite sticky.
Step 4: When eating the pomegranate seeds, just suck off the red flesh that surrounds the hard wooden seed. You can eat the wooden seed, but it really isn't that great of an idea. Obviously, it tastes like wood.
Personally, I think the juice from the seeds tastes similar to cranberry juice. If you simply want to skip the mess, then you can buy pomegranate juice from your local grocery store.
