1) Peripheral Support
For this truly to be considered a tablet PC, it should be able to link to peripherals. Because this is a hand-held device, the peripherals could be linked through bluetooth or wi-fi as opposed to wires. I think Apple needs to add this in the next generation. As of now, you cannot print, connect to TV or projector, scan, etc with this thing. It is more like a giant remote control than a computer!
2) Stylus
Call me old-school, but we need a stylus if you are planning to take notes with this thing. I am a teacher and I was planning to use an iPad in my classroom; however, it is very hard to do math problems on a computer with some-type of interface, such as a mouse or stylus. Touch screen is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but I need to import formulas with an old-fashion stylist!
3) Webcam
It is rumored that the next generation will have these options, but until then, we have to deal with a system without such support. A webcam and microphone built into this system would finally bring us into the 21st century with state-of-the-arts communications. Remember those futuristic shows where you see the person you are talking to via the communication device? Well, we have the technology! Where is my damn camera phone!?!
4) Expanded Memory
My Windows 95 computer had a larger hard-drive than this thing. Flash memory is awesome and allows us to store much more information in a smaller amount of space than ever before; however, Apple could have at least offered over 100 GB of space!
5) Flash
In the days of old (early 2000s), flash was a bulky system hog and killed a 56k connection. Today, broadband has allowed the expansion of flash to almost every site. Hell, I eventually gave in a added flash features to my own personal website. Why has Apple not found a solution to this?
6) Replaceable Battery
Like seriously, how am I suppose to change the battery in 2 years when I wear it out? Not having a battery replacement on the iPhone or iPod Touch is no big deal because it is not a resource hog; however, a computer runs a battery down two or three times a day with regular use. A small battery replacement slot would have been nice.
7) Multitasking
It's suppose to be a tablet PC, but you can only do one thing at a time with it. This is not a big deal with phones or iPod devices, but with a tablet PC, I would expect it. Windows 7 finally realized the advantage to duel screen multitasking. Maybe Apple needs to start getting ideas from Microsoft!
