Poetry: Odd dreams

An Incredible Dream

-

I simply have to write this

Before I forget

A dream that was fleeting

But has not faded yet

-

It is sure to do so

As dreams often do

So I’d better get writing

Before the memory is through

-

If I don’t do it justice

You will have to forgive me

I’m all of a quiver

With my words, do you see?

-

Such was the impact

This incredible dream

It woke me from slumber

With an ear piercing scream

-

The trouble is now

I can’t find the words

To show the intensity

The noises I heard

-

I must write it down

Lest it fades and disperses

Strange singing voices

With their heart rending verses

-

They were singing such beauty

Yet a fearful song

If I could only remember....?

Oh bugger...it’s gone...
