It's been hailed as a wonder cream and sold out in days after a BBC2 Horizon programme said it was as effective at combating sun damage as other products which can only be prescribed by a doctor.
So I decided to buy some the next time I was at Boots, but it was out of stock, not surprising really as they had sold 60,000 bottles in 10 days instead of 1,000 a week as they had previously! Eventually after trying on eBay for a few weeks, where one bottle sold for £100, I managed to buy a bottle at even less than the recommended price and that was including postage!
So what is this wonder serum?
The blurb on the box promises "Renewed Radiance", that it reveals younger looking, beautifully refined skin. That day by day it perfects your skin's surface, enlivening your complexion, helping to reduce the appearance of pores and smoothing lines and wrinkles in just 4 weeks.
The serum itself is a white and perfumeless . It doesn't look any different than many other serums but it cost a lot less than the one I had been using, so I was willing to try it out.
Did it work for me?
I have used the serum for six months, to begin with I followed the directions (unusual for me!) and applied it to my skin morning and night after cleansing and toning and I was also using Boots products for this. My bottle has a push down dispenser, so it was easy to dispense two little squirts which I then smoothed onto my face and neck avoiding my eyes, and massaging in with my finger tips. The leaflet says this stimulates the blood flow to the skin which may help keep it supple and revitalised. Then I applied either day or night cream suitable for my skin - again Boots products.
It is different from other serums I have used, and feels very silky, but doesn't seem to hydrate your skin, in fact it seems to leave a waterproof coating, but not greasy in any way.
Having used up one bottle I went to buy another knowing it was now available, but discovered it was in a tube instead, although at the same price. It still contains 30ml, and the tube has a fine nozzle with tiny screw top. I squirted it into my bottle as I prefer the bottle on my dressing table and it is much easier to dispense. I rather think Boots have made a bigger profit on this packaging, and I prefer the glass bottle with gold neck and pearly lid - classier than a plastic tube.
I now use it a few times a week, and it is maintaining my skin in a good condition.
I have to say there is a big improvement in my skin, which I thought
