What you wish you or your children never learned in high school

by SUZEEQ

Lie, Cheat and Steal
The wonderful world of public education seems to manage to help our children learn all sorts of undesirable traits and it takes a lot family guidance to point them in the right direction. I have three daughters that have attended public schools for at least part of the time. My middle daughter finished in a homeschool while my oldest stayed in high school and my youngest is in her junior year. The difference is amazing, my middle daughter is so easy to get along with. She did not like the things at school, such as the gossip and drama, so after researching we decided to give it a try and it worked well for her. The following is what she is glad she missed out on that my youngest has had to either witness or learn first hand:
Lying and Cheating - Your thinking the kids? No -my oldest told me of the numerous times she witnessed secret meetings in the parking lot between two of the married (not to each other) teachers.
Stealing - you can not leave anything unattended or think it is safe even in your locker with a lock on it.
Manipulation - everyday in all sorts of ways - friends, teachers home school...
Throw a Punch or taking a punch - my youngest says hardly a day goes by when there is not a fight brewing.
These are only a few of the things that I wish that my two daughters did not have to learn at school. I can only hope that they are out weighed by the friendships that they formed, the teachers that cared and the memories of the happy times that they will never have at any other time in their lives like the first victory of the football team for the season, the first prom and of course that wonderful walk down the isle to collect that piece of paper that frees them from the "imprisonment". I can't help but wonder if somehow the bad memories will fade and the good will prevail? I hope so!
