Should we take the Bible literally?

Demonization of Other?

The Bible incites argumentation and confusion perpetuating the "demonization of other" for political reasons and thus the concept of spirituality and perhaps the true message is lost.

For the record, the author is not by any means an atheist. Anyone with an IQ can come to an educated conclusion relating to this topic after reading this article.  Lets begin with conformity as the leading topic as why the Bible is already a cause for argument.  The strategy over the struggle to achieve and sustain power is fear.  The very nature of scripture is fear based.  I mean, if you do not know any better and you are told that there are two choices, heaven and hell…hmmm?  Which one would you choose?

The very notion of such a dichotomous selection is also symptomatic of the narrow intellect of days past.  The very essence of human intellect has developed as we discover and question and explore in the playground we reside within, earth.  Even those willing and curious about exploration and discovery of the sciences were persecuted and labeled demons by those few in power.

For the mere purpose of control, those in power demonized anyone showing contradicting viewpoints and information relating to individualization or promoting the notion of free thinking, let alone promoting the development of human intellect for fear of being overridden.  So then my question is, why has the Bible, an error ridden and heavily translated document survived such an extensive period of time?

“Oh I know…CONTROL!”…The mere fact that more than 20% of adults read at or below the 5th grade reading level (Readfaster.com, 2010); only approximately 26% of women and 29% of men hold a bachelor’s degree is indicative that our population lacks the ability and/or desire to research, learn, and grow intellectually.

Keep in mind that the US population alone is projected to at 308,712,472.  I can see why procreation should be a top priority.  Let us ban condom use, and chastise openly gay individuals (who also procreate by the way…using alternative modalities of course).  Whip out that Bible, let's tell everyone that if they do not comply with the word (I will not and cannot personally refer to it as God’s word because we truly DO NOT have empirical proof and personally I cannot understand how God’s word can promote hate, separation, familial
