A confident guy who likes you, will show obvious signs, such as hanging out in places you frequent, or by asking you out on a date. If a guy is shy, his feelings for you will be more difficult to detect. There are however, signs all guys tend to show when they like a girl.

One sure fire way to know if a guy likes you is to watch his body language when you are near him. If he points his feet towards you, or can't help glancing at you often, he is showing signs that he wants contact with you.

The most well known kind of body language, that indicates that a guy likes you, is if he carries out preening gestures. Just like male birds in the wild, who fluff out their chests and fan their tail features to attract female birds, males of the human species preen themselves, in order to attract a mate.

A guy who likes you may straighten his tie, or smooth his clothing down with his hands. He is likely to touch his hair, and attempt to make himself look his best in front of you. He may lick his lips to soften them, and lean in towards you, if you are in conversation.

As well as via body language, a guy will show that he likes you by giving you attention. He may go out of his way to spend time with, or around you. He may buy you little gifts, or be especially attentive to your needs, opening car doors for you, or offering to carry your bags.

Most guys are fairly direct, when it comes to letting a girl know that they like them. However, some guys need a little encouragement if they aren't very experienced when it comes to dating. When this is the case, it can help if you encourage him a little, that is if the feelings are mutual.

Hanging around in a group of friends, including the guy you like, can give him the opportunity to let you know if he's interested. If he is, he is likely to ask you on a date, or if he can phone you sometime.

Young guys, new on the scene, often let girls they like know this fact by sending a message through their friends. More experienced, confident guys, are more upfront about liking a girl, and will take their chances and let her know by saying so.
