You've been talking to her for a while and you seem to be getting on well. But - does she like you?  Would she go out with you? And if she did, would it go anywhere?

There are ways to tell, because for many girls, telling you straight that they like you is not an option. Firstly, some girls worry about seeming pushy. Mainly, though, it is because they want a man smart enough to see the signs and take control himself. These are key indicators as to whether you would be good in a relationship. So guys - forget the daydream about her asking you out!

One way to tell if a girl likes you is if she laughs readily with you. Laughing means you are connecting with her and she is happy to open her emotions up with you. That doesn't apply to crying - laughter is more personal in that it means she is sharing something with you. Crying is not the same: you just happen to be there when she is upset.

Another is if she spends a lot of time fiddling with her hair during conversation. This is a key indicator and it really means that she is trying to get you to look at her. If a girl runs her hands through her hair, or flicks it a lot, then she definitely likes you.

If she inclines her head, exposing her neck, that is another positive sign. The neck is the most vulnerable part of the body, and this is a subconscious way of telling you that she doesn't mind being vulnerable with you.

Be more careful about dress and dress clues - the way a girl dresses will be more to do with her than you. Just because she wears low-cut tops, it does not mean that this is for your benefit alone!  However, what she does with it might be. Does she lean in to you? If she does, she might well be keen on you.  Or, does she dress differently when you are around? You could ask her friends some subtle questions...

Other movements are indicators too - if you sit together, and you "accidentally" touch knees, and she doesn't move hers away - that's a good sign.  If she touches you a lot, that can simply mean that she is tactile, and lots of women are. It isn't a reliable indicator unless it is lingering. How to tell if a touch lingers just that bit too long? Well, anything that allows eye contact is long enough to be a positive sign. Eye contact is always good, and if you can keep eye contact with her while saying something vaguely flirty, then she definitely likes you. It doesn't mean all that much, but it's a start.

Her attitude to flirting doesn't mean anything in and of itself though.
