MP3 player reviews: Zune HD

Zune is a brand of Microsoft's. It is known to be the brand of many popular portable media players. The Zune HD is another step forward to the current media players in stores with its web browsing and applications settings. If you think of it in a way, more or less it is like the Ipod Touch. Some say it's better while others say it isn't.

The Zune HD has to offer many things such as its web browsing and application folder. The very basic it can do are music, video, radio, and pictures playing. Basically all MP3 devices have these so there isn't anything too special about it. Adding the web browsing and  applications folder are some thing other portable media devices can't do. The web browsing does not have service, but rather needing you to locate these Wi-Fi hotspots. The applications folder is where all "programs" are stored. Some include games and entertainment while others are more ease of access use.

The design is a cool looking one with a somewhat of a trapezoid prism shape. The design and size plays a big part in this device. If you know what an Ipod Touch looks like, the Zune HD is only a bit smaller. The screen size is 3.3" which is only a bit smaller, but that shouldn't be a problem. For one thing, this device is pocket-able with its small size.

The web browsing experience has some major advantages and disadvantages. Some advantages are for one that this device even has a web browser, but it can detect more networks than most devices. This would depend on the area it is in, but compared with the Ipod Touch at the exactly same spot, Users will see that difference before their very own eyes. The problem would be that the web browsing could get quite slow at the time. Users cannot expect a device this small and some what cheap to out perform other devices greatly. The screen could be said to be a little small on its 3.3", but the purpose is to make sure that it is pocket-able.

There are some additional features that other devices don't have. This media player is called the Zune HD and in fact can play videos in HD with its 720pixels HD video output. This would allow  Zune users to watch videos in a way better quality. Not only, but is is also built with the OLED screen technology making it better when it comes to performance. The Nvidia Tegra is a graphics card or chip which is among the very best. Surprisingly the Zune HD has the Nvidia Tegra chip built in, making users and their devices more enjoyable.

Overall this is a fair and decent device. One important thing not mentioned is the battery life. There is really no accurate test to see how long the battery life is. Most would last around 30 hours with the Wi-Fi turned off and even less hours with the Wi-Fi turned on. Compared to the cost is offers at and the features included, it can turn out to be one of the best deals you see out there in the portable media player history.
