What if I told you that coaches do make such mistakes in kids soccer drills that have the potential to destroy a team and make it a loser. Yes, that’s correct. Lot of people must be busy finding out the big reason responsible for a team’s such great downfall. Well, let it be known that there are many.

With respect to soccer drills for kids, you’ve got to act very cautiously and tactfully. It’s very important for you know the kid’s psychology. Talk to the kids in a manner that they find most suitable. But it’s really sad that a lot of coaches are still untrained to get used to this. They do not appreciate the difference between coaching the kids and coaching mature players.

So this is it; let me share some blunders that coaches make which reduce their teams to rubble.

1. A lot of them consider their jobs as casual work. They don’t consider in necessary to be prompt in reaching the ground, set up the drills, or systematize practice sessions. All these are not only bad traits but put off the kids too. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Youth soccer drills should be pre-planned. Arrange for various equipments needed to perform the drills before-hand.

Don’t be late. Make it a point to reach the field earlier than the kids. Well in fact, grace the filed with your presence when kids reach. What you get here is the additional time to run through the drills or plan out things.

2. When coaches give instructions for kids soccer drills, they get so carried away by their emotions that they keep going on and on. Can you anticipate how boring that can get? You must realize that players are more interested in playing than hearing. Always speak for less amount of time. Use this talk to motivate the kids and increase their confidence.

It is also important not to disturb them in between the sessions. If you have noted anything wrong, share it after the drill has ended. Also, stay out of the field when the kids are practicing.

3. Some coaches get ruthless and unkind while dealing with the kids. In soccer drills for youth, both the characters can prove disastrous. It is never a good idea to show your emotions on the field. It is natural for the kids to make errors on the field. Remember, they are just kids. You do not need to take this to heart and get harsh with the players.

When this happens, you are making the kids loose interest and also making things difficult for yourself. Soccer is played in the mind more than from the body. Make the kids realize this and you would have motivated them.
