This is a question I have been pondering for many years now and to be honest, I don’t think I have an answer. But I do have a few tips that might help.

I will start from the very beginning and I think the first sign is that he talks to you. This may seem quite obvious but if a guy goes out of his way to make conversation with you, then you might be on to a winner. Similarly, if you go over to him and start a conversation which quickly progresses from small talk, then this is a good sign he likes you.

The next sign is that these conversations will become flirty and even playful. You might find him telling you that you look good or noticing that you have had a hair cut (which by the way guys, is a big thing!).

He might start jokes or ask about your weekend or your night. That shows that he is interested in what you have done and what you are doing. If a guy didn’t like you then he wouldn’t bother to talk to you, surely?

The conversations might then turn slightly more obvious and he might then start being all touchy feely with you and always find an excuse to touch your arm or your back when he brushes past you.

These are always good signs I have found. He might sometimes go out of his way to come and find you for a conversation or give you a smile when you walk past.

A guy said to me once that even though a girl is attractive on the outside, he doesn’t really like them until he spends time talking to them and finding out what they are like on the inside (yet this might have been his way of saying the right thing to impress me).

Once the talking and getting to know each other has been done, he may then ask for your number or ask you out for a drink, which is a sure sign he is looking for something more than friendship.

But there are also guys that don’t give off any signs at all, or not the right ones. They say you are only nasty to the ones you like and you may find that some guys adopt this technique. They might be nasty to you and tease you and make fun of you in order to put you off.

They might be scared of their feelings for you and instead of showing that they like you, they turn it round and try and push you away. If this is the case then to be honest I wouldn’t bother.

There are also those guys who have completely come out of the blue and told me they liked me with no signs whatsoever.

I think us girls will always be trying to analyse what a guy feels and if there are any tell tale signs and what they mean. I don’t think we will ever fully understand how the male of the species works.
