I woke up today with a sense of despair

though the sun was shining and a light breeze in the air.

You see I had to go to my doctor for a battery of tests

So worry lay heavily upon my chest.

When the test was all over I sat and I anxiously  waited

Dreading the verdict and the sentence to come.

I was as anxious as a criminal awaiting a jury,

In came the Doctor to deliver the news....

"No Surgery" he said with a grin but his look of foreboding made my stomach churn

"I am sorry he said but you have MS."

When the reality struck I was in a dull haze

Confused and angry I let it sink in

I felt so alone even among family and friends.

Then I discovered to my delight that there are others with lots of insight.

They helped me understand and gave me the strength to go on,

Listening and advising through experiences of their own.

When you are in doubt and have nowhere to turn

Remember that you are never truly alone.

When your faith wants to waiver and you want to give up

Just say a little prayer and talk to someone.

Give people around you the benefit of the doubt

trust them with your feelings and let it all out.

No matter how hopeless and down with despair

When you need someone they will be there

to quietly listen and offer up hope because we are truly

Never alone.
