That's a bit funny that the pope would liken protestants to following the king of hell. After all it is the catholic church who has at this time the most profound and deeply rooted issues concerning the king of hell, the widespread abuse of children. This is a result of a satanic influence which comes upon a people who in their pride presume to have truth, but are in the deepest darkest deception.
If God were in that place there would be light and truth and justice and love and mercy. What we have today is a massive and widespread cover up of evil that is encompassing most of the western catholic church and satan has a victory.
Jesus said that we would know them by their fruit, and it won't much matter what the pope thinks because the fruit of catholocism is out there for the world to see now.
Satan would be a defeated foe if the people of God would abide in the truth of His word and the light of His presence. Faith is the only thing which justify a man, faith in the shed blood of the lamb of God, faith in a God who hates wickedness and pride and every evil thing, Faith which rejoices in love and truth and mercy and justice.
Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism will not save any man, or defeat the schemes of wicked men, only faith in Christ. A faith which leads to repentance from sin and all kinds of wickedness.
The faith of God does not belong to the Catholic church, but to God. It was given to them to give freely to all men, that men might believe and be saved. But they took those promises and refusing to turn from the lust of their hearts and flesh used the word of God as a tool in which they could gain favour, power, influence.
As the scripture says in Peter, yes the very St Peter whom the catholic church claims as their own...2 Peter 2:1-3 and because of covetousness, the way of truth will be maligned, twisted, perverted by wicked men who seek to use Godliness as a means of gain. Who in their greed exploit you with false words.......
Satan is not a defeated foe at this time, and yet from a prophetic standpoint he is. For God in Christ is and has judged the world. All of these things are simply waiting to be revealed to the sons of men. This will occur at the day of the Lord.
