Humor: First dates

Lady and the Tramp Love without Boundaries.

That is how I remember my first date with my now husband, some six years ago.  I had been married before but never had a real first date until this moment.  It was Valentines Day.  Basically every single girls nightmare, all the yucky love stuff floating around and most years I'd spent alone as a single mother to one rambunctious five year old.  But this Valentines was different.  This Valentines I had someone to go out with it and I was so overly emotional and scared to death as to what to expect for a first date.

He took me to a little cafe style restaurant.  They were having a theme.  Lady and the Tramp, spaghetti and meatballs for two.  I love the Walt Disney movie and pasta is my favorite so already we were off to a great start.  My palms were sweaty.  I wore a black dress and boots.  He was wearing faded blue jeans and a charcoal grey dress shirt that brought out the bright blue of his eyes.

Sitting at our table he asked me if I would like a glass of wine.  I love wine so of course I wasn't about to refuse.  Neither of us were driving.  I had a sitter for the night.  One glass wouldn't hurt.  He signaled to the waitress to come over and she immediately jumped.  She brought us two glasses and a bottle of Schloss Laderheim Riesling, my favorite wine!

"How did you?"  I looked at him puzzled and he smiled at me.  I knew the restaurant didn't carry this brand.  I'd been here before and that's when he informed me he'd come down earlier that day and dropped it off for tonight for us specially.  It helped that he knew the owner of the restaurant and of course the fact he'd thought of it gave him two very big points in my book.

In the middle of drinking our wine; he stood up and left for a moment.  He said he had something for me.  He came back and sat down, handing me four roses in a bouquet with baby's breath and I instantly felt my emotions rise.  They were not your ordinary roses.  One was blue and three were green in color.

Now I knew you couldn't just walk into a florist and grab blue and green roses.  He informed me that he'd ordered them a week ago.  They had been specially hand painted.  "Those are your favorite colors right?"

I nodded.  I could feel the tears welling up and I excused myself.  I did not want to cry but couldn't help it.  I spent twelve
