As a young lad walking with life.
As I have been told “boy you’re strong.”
I would reply, “I know.”
To further this path I have been told.
That “you are smart for a boy of your age.”
Again I would say, “I know.”
As time went on I became a young man.
The girl that I am dating,
Said this to me under the tree.
“Your quiet tonight, is there anything wrong?”
And I would reply, “yes, I know.”
Then came along her pop.
“Well son are you going to give her kiss on the cheek.”
“Wait pop,” with a voice that squeaked in the early light.
“What my dear, what is so bad that has you in tears?”
“I had ask him if anything was wrong.
And he said he knows.”
“Well son what is it that you know?”
All upset and shivering now cold.
“I know sir, but do really want to know?”
“Yes I really want to know.”
“Well all right then here goes.
As she steps into the light.
She startles me with such fright.
When I come to look at her,
I know what I see and that is you.
So you see sir, it does not pay to know so much.
Now I must go.”

Just so you know,
I'm secure in my faith.
I don't need you to try
To get me to walk your path.
I have my own.

You Were There
You walked into my life one day.
Your smile lit up the room.
Laughter rung out in the air;
There was no
Just so you know
I told you a lie
I made up a story
It was lose you or die
Just so you know
I am not who you see
It was all just

I never wanted
To hurt you
To leave you
I never wanted
Things to change
For anything to be different
I only wanted
To tell

The throat was sore, when finally woke,
to start my daily day,
But laid back down with body broke,
to heal right where I
