Celebrating the New Year throughout history

The reasons why we celebrate 'New Year' and some other traditions is because they are 'passed down' from our ancestors. They are the traditions and cultures of different group of people. While there are slight deviations of some celebration styles and customs from various people, most traditions are roughly the same when it comes to the celebration of 'New Year'.

Celebration of 'New Year' can be on the 1st of January every year and on the Eve as well, to countdown. For the Chinese, there are the Chinese New Year Celebration as well. As mention, celebrations of this day can be passed down from ancestors; and of course, the main reasons people celebrate New Year is to 'start anew'. Most people like to have new things. I suppose that is human nature for most people. People are excited about new things and they yearn and look forward to new things. This concept will thus apply to 'New Year'. With New Year, there is an 'excuse' to start your life anew if your previous year was not a good year. If your previous year was a good one, then you would hope this brand New Year would bring you even more prosperity and luck.

After a whole year of hardwork, New Year is an excuse of 'rest' and fun for some people. It is a rare occasion of the year for people - friends and families to get together to have their family bondage and feeling of warmth and love. It is a time to put down all our work for some time, to rest and relax and to have fun and enjoyment on this rare occasion of the year again (after 365days).

At home, the old year is busy with work and goals to meet. There might be junks and mess around. Old furnitures, old clothings and so on, to be cleared and to welcome the new year with new goals and new resolutions.
