Launched in April of 1998, Netflix was a revolutionary DVD rental service that changed the movie rental business forever.    For the first time, subscribers were able to have rented DVDs delivered right to their doorstep for a reasonable monthly rate, without the threat of any late fees.  Quite simply Netflix is an ingenious idea.  

I have been a member of Netflix for just over a year, and I have loved every moment of my membership.  At first I was a little skeptical about just how well the service would work for me as a Montana resident, we aren't exactly a major center of business, but after signing up for the free 2 week trial my concerns were erased.  DVDs are delivered promptly to my door with the wait time being only 1 or 2 business days, which for living in a rather remote area is pretty amazing.  Not only are the DVDs delivered to my door, but I also don't have to run the risk of late fees, which makes the service even more user friendly.  As a college student, I have found that when I rent a movie I don't always have time to watch it right away, but with Netflix time is never an issue.

Within the last few years, Netflix has made some very nice upgrades to its service including online movie streaming, blu-ray disc rentals, and movie streaming directly to your TV.  Each of these advancements in the service have furthered the distance between Netflix and the standard movie rental store in your neighborhood.  i absolutely love the ability to stream movies wirelessly to my TV through my Samsung Blu-Ray player, and although the purchase of a blu-ray player can be somewhat pricey, I have found the investment to be worth every penny when combined with the Netflix service.  The movie stream without any glitches thanks to my high-speed internet connection and the quality Netflix provides is top of the line.  Netflix has made nearly every title possible available in HD which is more than what can be said of your local movie store.  Lastly, the movie library that Netflix offers is so extensive that I have yet to run into the problem of not being able to find the movie I'm looking for.  In fact the movie offerings are so wide that the professor of my film studies class recommend Netflix as the number one course supplement, simply for the reason that it was the only rental service he found that had all of the titles studied in class in its inventory.  

When it comes right down to it, there is not a better movie rental service on the market.  Netflix has several different membership options giving users the freedom to choose the price and capabilities that best fit their movie viewing needs.  My personal plan costs $10.99 a month and gives me access to unlimited online viewing, it provides me with unlimited DVD rental, and also allows me to rent all blu-ray discs when available.  I honestly believe that there is not a better DVD rental service than that which Netflix offers.  I have been 100% satisfied with the Netflix service and would recommend it to any movie enthusiast.
