Poetry: Through the eyes of a child

by Michael Schwoerer

Created on: February 14, 2010

Through the eyes of a child.

Of what age it does not matter.

For one being small looking out.

To the sights and sounds

Can be a hundred feet tall.

Opposed to the giants I see

I am so glad to be a child.

So things are much simpler to grasp.

Frightened of  becoming ten feet tall.

To most this is quit scary

When I see what giants do.

At first you see they cuddle us with love.

Holding us when the heart is ever so small.

But over time it is bad as we become older.

That being seen from my neighbors yard.

Just ahead on top of the fence.

To my friends

Mommy hit him

Until he was clean out of sight

This is why I wish to remain small.
