Poetry: Pure love

Title: A Kiss Will Do


It was a cool moonlit night, and my eyes were set on

the silver diamond studded bracelet, O be still my heart!

I moved in on it, enchanted by its glimmer, wooed by

its silent calling, echoing upon my flesh, to come hither!

Thus, grabbing it and caressing it upon my hands,

I quickly paid the cashier and went off to her, my sweet!

Then it happened, midst the crowded street, a whisper

in my ear, a gun to my side...the bracelet...gone...taken!

In frantic mood, as my mind swayed dizzy upon my

heavy thoughts, I went home...empty handed!

I thought to myself, of what to say, what to do...

I practiced with passionate breath upon my lips!

The door was in front of me, sweat upon my brow,

my heart filled with shame, my words cold as ice!

For one last minute to practice, then to face my lover...

with empty hands on our anniversary!

Then out from behind, hands over my eyes, it was she,

my lover, I quickly fumbled for the words!

But with a gentle shhh, she gave me a soft kiss

upon my cheek and whispered: A Kiss Will Do...
