A Tale of Hearts and Flowers
Hearts and flowers, from ages past,
Have been inseparable twins that
Oftentimes delighted both rich and poor.
One in a luxurious hall, and another on a lonely moor.
Yet still, they both yearn for love
More love from that lovely dove;
Who adorns herself with jewels and fancy shoes,
And the other in her simplicity, needs no jewels!
For on her dainty feet,
She commands a fleet
Of flowers
And hearts!
Hearts of kings and peasants, enraptured with love.
And flowers seeking her, day and night!
