“She Will Think of Him”


She’ll be standing in the church
In a gown of white and lace
Waiting for her time to come
To go and take her place
Next to the man she loves
More than anything in her life
Amazed that the day has finally come
For her to be his wife

And as the ceremony goes on
And she feels her new life begin
She’ll take a moment to herself
And she will think of him

She’ll smile for the man he was
Remember happier days
And she’ll cry some tears for him
Wishing he could have given her away

She’ll be lying in the bed
Holding her newborn son
Looking back on the past few years
At all that she has done
She’ll pray that the life in her hands
Holds nothing but happiness
And she’ll hope that she can give him
Nothing but the best

She’ll look down at her baby boy
Feeling a new love within
And as she looks into those little eyes
She will think of him

She’ll close her eyes and ask him
To watch over her family
And help her become the kind of mother
She always wanted to be
And she’ll say the words from her heart
That she’s never said out loud
“Daddy when you look at me
I hope that you are proud”
