Classroom uses for common items: Ice cube trays

Ice cube trays are quite versatile in the classroom, especially for first graders and children in kindergarten who do a lot of creative work. Ice cube trays can be kept in the classroom, and used as  holders for liquid stuff, especially paint. First graders do a lot of paint and art work, and what better way to separate the paint colours by using ice cube containers. These containers are easy to obtain, and every child's parent will be able to donate one or two ice cube containers.

Ice cube trays will also prevent wastage. Children can combine different colours easily without spilling paint all  over the place, and teachers can save the left over paint by placing a plastic wrap on the surface. This will save the school loads of money in the future and this money can be used for other purposes.

Ice cube trays can be used to reduce the amount of clutter in the classroom. Teachers can teach students to be responsible by using the ice cube containers to clean up items that normally lie after the class is over. Ice cube containers can also use to house staplers, thumb pins and sharpeners and erasers so that students do not mislay those items. This is very useful as these items always end up getting lost in the class, and ice cube containers have the ability to separate these items.

Coming back to the subject of art, ice cube containers can also be used to house sprinkle dust which is used in drawings and creative items. These items as well have away of messing all over the place or getting lost. ice cube containers are a great way to organise these items.

If pets like fish or hamsters are kept in the class then ice cube containers can be used to house the food. The food would be very easy to feed from a ice cube container, and would be easy for the students to find. Raw food for the animals can also be diced into little pieces and be given to the pets.

Students can also use ice cube containers for ''show and tell''. Students can demonstate how to make different items, and use the ice cube containers to show everyone what they are using. Other students will get a clear view of what is going on, and this will help the student to up his or her marks.
