Poetry: Through the eyes of a child

by Samantha Brunton

Created on: February 11, 2010

You loved me till i was five,

until my brother came along.

And i was pushed aside

like i did not belong.

My daddy told me he loved me

and grandma told me too

But i can't remember you telling me

But i remember telling you?

Why did you never say it?

Did i make you feel sad?

I tried to make you better,

I didn't mean to make you mad.

I just wanted you too love me

Or pretend that it was true.

I just wanted my mammy

and i wanted her to want me too.
