When it comes to relationships, age truly is a state of mind. There is no reason why a woman can't find happiness in dating an older man. The things to consider when dating an older man are much the same as one would consider when dating a man of the same age. Do you share common interests, values, and goals? Are you attracted to one another? Do you have fun together?
Of course an older man has had significantly more life experience and here is where you might waver in your devotion to your May-December romance. If you are having feelings of uncertainty, following are the factors you should consider before continuing the relationship.
His physical health
Can he keep up with you? If you are a particularly active individual, you will need a partner who is physically fit. Many older men are health-conscious and retain their youthful vigor, but nature and genetics do take their toll. If your age difference is significant, you might have to be willing to slow down your pace.
Of course, it is also acceptable for you to indulge in adrenaline-pumping activities with friends in your own age group. Hopefully, your older man possesses the maturity to understand the value of time spent apart.
His past (and how it affects his present)
There is a good chance that your older man has been married before. You must be willing to accept that he has serious obligations toward his ex-wife (or wives) and children. If there are children involved, it is particularly important that you take this into account. If you and he are serious, his children will become a major part of your life. If this is something you celebrate, then you are in good shape, but if you find the word 'baggage' creeping into your vocabulary, you should probably end the relationship.
His finances
Some women make the mistake of assuming any older man must be financially well-off. After all, he's had years to establish himself in his career. The truth is, age and financial responsibility have little to do with one another. Just because he is older does not mean he has saved or invested or spent wisely - and then there's the possibility of child support or alimony.
Be independent. Anyway, if it's money you're looking for in an older man, then you might have to rethink your motives.
Family reactions
Your families might not be entirely supportive of your non-conventional relationship. If you truly love
