Women are complicated beings and to think that a pair of shoes reveal anything about her would be foolish. After all, most women have a variety of shoes, does that mean they have multiple personalities?
What a woman wears on her feet depends on her plans for the day, or even her plans for the next hour.
If she walks to work, she will most likely wear sneakers or some other type of comfortable shoe. Wearing that type of shoes does not mean that she is not stylish or does not care about her appearance, she just wants to walk in comfort. Chances are, once she gets to work she will change her comfy shoes for something more trendy.
Never assume that a tall woman who wears flat shoes has a complex about her height. Maybe she has a day of extensive shopping ahead of her. Maybe she is recovering from a back, leg or foot injury and can’t wear heels for a while.
Perhaps you think that a woman wearing high heels is confident about herself. You could be wrong. Maybe she is on her way to a function or a meeting. Maybe she can’t wait for whatever it is to be over so she can kick off her heels.
What if you were to see a woman in sandals or sling backs? Would you think that she is playful or flirtatious? Perhaps, or perhaps she is nursing a blister or a sore toe.
What if you saw a woman wearing blue satin shoes? Would you frown? Would it even occur to you that she is breaking in her bridesmaid shoes?
Now what if you were to see her in sturdy lace-up shoes? Would you think here is a down to earth woman? You could misjudge her. Maybe she is on her way to her podiatrist and borrowed shoes from a friend because the doctor lectured her on high heel shoes during her last visit.
Or she could be on her way back from the gym. She could have been rock climbing and kept her sturdy shoes on to go home.
If you think a woman’s shoes reveal anything about her, you could be sadly mistaken. Just as no woman has only one personality, so does no woman own only one pair of shoes. Only after you get to know her and have spent some time with her, will she start to reveal who she really is. Words and actions define a woman, not her shoes.
