Hearts are one of the most popular motifs in crochet. They can be used in afghans, baby items, clothing, home decor and much more. But how do you find those patterns? And how do you only find the ones for free?
Everyone knows to Google when you want to find anything, but the best site I have found for free patterns is: Crochet Pattern Central found at:
http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/free_crochet_pa tterns.php
Crochet Pattern Central only post links to free patterns. Each pattern they link to has pictures, and let's face it, without pictures a crochet pattern is just a jumble of abbreviated words. Seeing the finished item can often times help you through a difficult to understand part of the pattern or just let you know you messed up big time somewhere in the directions.
The designer who created them has made the patterns free, please respect their rights and talents. Do not copy and paste the patterns to other sites, but instead provide a link back to where the pattern originated.
Here are some free heart crochet patterns:
Cable Hearts Baby Afghan
This afghan pattern relies on a cable stitch to make the heart design. It isn't a pattern for a beginner, but is written in an easy to understand style so any one should be able to complete it.

Conversation Hearts Scarf
This cute scarf would make a great take along project as the hearts are all crochet separately and then sewn together. It is also a great way to use up all those leftover yarns from other projects.
