Buying gifts for anyone can be difficult, but when you purchase for someone you are still getting to know, you may find it even harder. No worries though, there are many things you can give a new boyfriend, and not only will they say I LOVE YOU, but they show it as well.

If you know his interests, for example, does he play video games, or like to work on old cars? If so, get him a video game, or some tools, or some magazines about the subject.

Movies and CDs, are always winners. You really cant go wrong with purchasing a movie that he's been talking about, or a CD of one of his favorite musicians. You could even make him a CD of some of his favorite music.

Baskets are a great idea as well. A basket of junk food for the junk food "junkie" or some baked goods, such as muffins or cookies. You could even intergrate the movie and basket idea, making him a basket with popcorn and movie watching snacks along with his favorite movie.

Gift certificates are thoughtful and convenient as well, as long as the gift certificate is somewhere he shops. Coffee shop gift cards are great for the man on the go, or a gift card to his favorite department store. Very nice since we may not always know what to buy someone we have never bought for, so that they can decide themselves.

My first Valentine's Day with my current boyfriend was special, as they all are, but I called his brother to find out what his favorite food was, and I made it for him. He loves spaghetti, so I even went all out and made meatballs, garlic bread, and bought his favorite wine. He was so shocked that I would go through all that trouble, and when I brought out the chocolate cake, he told me I had won him over. Way to go me! Doing something as nice as making him a nice meal, with candles and some soft music, a nice dessert, says you care and you want him to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

My favorite gift idea, one that I had heard about but never tried, is the coupon book. You can fill a book with home made coupons, for things like a free back massage, or one meal of your choice, and others much more x-rated. The coupon book is the gift that keeps on giving, as it can be used at any time and once you let him use the coupon, it shows you care all the time, not just on Valentine's Day.
