I saw a face, incomprehensible to me
In my bleary-eyed state.
One of us was a dreamer soon to wake,
The other an apparition soon to fade -
To be blotted out completely.

But what if it is me?
Then I dare not wake him,
For in his dream I find my home.
Am I not truly real -
Yet, I am determined to exist,
If only in a mist.
