Negative effects of the Internet

Most technology has benefits for society in one way or another but also can have their drawbacks as well. Every advancement leaves some problems in its wake or in the way it affects the people who use it. Most things in this field are designed to change how things are done or are an advancement on existing technology. The Internet was an invention that was created to improve communication between different locations and to share information within the parameters of the initial environment of the design building. When the Internet began to grow out from its initial university location to begin its spread round the world its worth grew but some negatives went with it.

INFORMATION OVERLOAD

Before everything was at the tips of our fingers any research was done using books, visiting locations and by one to one communication. This can be done via the Internet still but the personal touch has almost totally gone. Also gone is the traveling to find things out , we sit at home and the information comes to us with minimum effort. We lose also the thirst for knowledge to some extent as when we read we will see other information we may take in, with the Internet we will often head straight to the answer without any other information seen.

DON'T TAKE THE AIR

When you use the Internet enough you will lose the need to take the air, in fact its quite easy to not to out of the house at all. You can order your food and provisions, do your days work and order your entertainment from your desk or lap. It does save a huge amount of time and perhaps a degree of effort but doesn't help your personal health and fitness. Going shopping physically may take time and some extra money but there is benefit still.

TOO EASY

All these benefits make life too easy for us and more importantly for our children and those after. The lack of effort needed to gain items or rewards makes us all lazy. We don't walk to shops for food, walk to the post box for letters or make the effort to find anything. I f we want an electrical item will will have read all about it on line before going to buy it from the first shop we go to, unless we just buy the item on line. The streets will be quieter , although good for the environment it will be worse for society as a whole. The net has done a lot for us but has to be used in moderation , we have to still be human and not extensions of computers.
