Clans men of the mountains, they were called, a powerful Clan of warriors were nearly wiped out three thousand years ago. In a battle with the Betrölk's a massive defeat was dealt to the Clansmen forcing them into the mountains. Deeper into the mountains the Clan climbed away from the world and the Betrölks. Before the clan was forced to retreat in the mountains. Elves had made a home in vast cities in the caverns in the heart of the mountains. Hidden away from the world creating another life only letting a select few know of its location. The clansmen sot refuge with these Elves that held a strong foot hold in the mountain wilderness. Baelyn's father was one that knew where the clans men had entered the world of the mountain elves. Being a trader of goods he was taught the location and his father past it down to him.

With the battle was lost from the beginning the leaders decided not to take the aid of their ally's, their fate had been set. After the battle started the leaders surrendered leaving the retreating soldiers to fend for themselves. Baelyn's command was destroyed under the first massive cavalry charge. With this loss the rebellion will fail without help, leaving the land at the mercy of the Betrölk Empire.
