A Crack In a Plate
A crack in a plate, the spot on a suit,
Remove all the blemishes from public view.
A chip in the paint, the rust on the fence,
Let’s whitewash a fading romantic event.
A master of smiles, the queen of the glance,
Perfected affection performed at the dance.
Lover’s parading, or dark masquerade?
Please show us the truth behind this display.
No need for the show, no couple’s a “ten”,
It’s all imperfections that make love so grand.
Come rest in my arms with all that your not,
Show me your cracks and I’ll point out my spots.
Walk freely from all expectation assaults.
A couple perfected will grow from their faults.
