Valentine's Day celebration has become very popular over the last couple of decades. No doubt commercial establishments have done this subtly as this gets them good business but this is also an opportunity for people especially couples to express their love and appreciation for their loved ones. So this is an opportunity for young men to lavish gifts on their girlfriends to impress them and create a lasting impression.

There are several options when it comes to gifting ideas on this special day. So here goes the list -

1. Have dinner at a great restaurant on that day. Be sure to find out the type of cuisine she likes and then find out the best restaurant in town serving that. As the place is likely to be crowded, remember to make a booking in advance. If there is a river or a sea around your place then you can look at the option of having dinner by the waterside.

2. Flowers like roses is a great gift - get them from a florist who can make the bunch look attractive. Hopefully your girl likes roses else get her the ones she like. A visit to the florist can be helpful as they can provide good tips on the right flowers to pick for the season. Besides, some of the flower bouquets they make can be quite exotic and too flattering for her.

3. Jewellery - expensive jewellery like a necklace, bracelet or a brooch are a great way to create an impression on your lady. If you are unsure, you can visit the shop together and let her make the choice. This way you are sure that she likes what you are buying her.

4. Tickets to a movie, theater or an opera - go well with most women. This will also give you an opportunity to spend couple of hours together. It will be a great boost to your relationship.

5. Chocolates - fine Belgian chocolates are a great gifting idea, particularly if she has a sweet tooth.

You can choose one or more as per your choice and budget. Remember your budget is important. If you are thinking of a long time relationship then you may be setting the standards for future gifts. 

All said and done women love to receive gifts and especially beautiful ones. However, discerning women also look at the thoughts behind these gifts so it is not all about expensive gift only. 

Hopefully with the right gift the two of you will have many many pleasant memories of this day!
