New love feels kind of like sticking your finger into a light socket, but instead of feeling a jolt of electricity, you simply giggle at this powerful new force that is building inside you. Your hair is sticking out every which way, but you don't mind, because you just spent hours rolling around the floor, the bed, the grass, the leaves, or wherever, snuggled in your new love's arms. The silly grin on your face is so large and bright that it couldn't be removed with a jackhammer.
When you have to be apart from your new love, friends and family try to communicate, but you don't hear them. Your mind can't comprehend logical thought. Voices enter your consciousness, but all you hear is a low distant rumble of whaaa, whaaa, whaaa, because your brain is far away. You wonder when you will see your love next, and what are they doing right now? Are they missing you as much as you feel alone without them? Or, how wonderful it felt the last time you held them in your arms and how you never want to be separated? What was that your friend was saying just now? You wonder if anyone can see the total change in you, that you see when I look in the mirror.
Love is a drug that mellows your worries, yet heightens your senses. It is a balm that can soothe old wounds and pains. The chemistry of new love is so powerful, that if it could be reproduced and sold on the market, the cost would be nearly astronomical. You could conquer worlds with such an arsenal. Or even send someone to the moon and back with just an ounce of elixir. There would never again be cause for worry about the shortage of energy. If we all became drunk on this love potion, we would have enough power to light up the world. This globe would send out a glow of it's own, so bright it would light a path all the way to Jupiter. What is it that your friend keeps trying to tell you? Oh well, your mind is occupied right now.
For me, it has been almost a year since the time I recognized this feeling of a new found love. Each time we see each other across the room, or touch, the same feelings wash over us and bind us even closer. We embrace and declare our endless love for each other. I wish that everyone could be as happy as we are together. The world would truly be a much better place to live.
