Temptation
The human will, can be so terribly weak
When our animal instincts are tempted to breaking
A satisfaction offered, that we may miss
Tears us open to the core, animal heart for the taking
-
The mind tells the body, do not venture there
Betrayal and guilt, will cut deep to your soul
Still some surrender, to their devil within
One moment of pleasure, laying waste to the whole
-
And the devil is oh, so terribly clever
The thought of being caught, making mind and heart race
Yet not enough to desist, no, we continue
Risking everything we know, the lies clear on our face
-
Is there an answer , to this age old quandary
Is it really a devil, or only instinct so strong
The desire for lust, a very natural thing
Outweighing a society, that labels it wrong...
