slumped over and beaten by why
reasoning screams obscenities
sorrow pumps this very heart
lives of many identities
mesmerizing words have wooed me
caught up in an excited swirl
dancing to the sweet melody
emotions naturally unfurl
distracted by those butterflies
all of a sudden, went too far
too busy to even notice
the door to my heart was ajar
soft touch and a seraphic kiss
took my being to such great heights
now clouded with indecision
causes endless and restless nights
my concentration has been lost
to the words I see in my mind
once a free ranging, happy soul
stirred into an uproar, confined
it chains me to this very earth
I'm always searching for that face
but suddenly all these feelings
and my words sound so out of place
now I can see and I can hear
the turmoil of my own distraught
desire to reach out and touch
relieved of all abstract thoughts
a fire built on life's embers
it rages inside, my chest sinks
burning my being with the pain
energy for life and all shrinks
you have me completely consumed
minutes have never been so long
anticipation swallows me
waiting to hear the sound of song
everything tells me not to wait
let go of the sweet memory
released by the tears of my pain
the time has come to set you free

The truth about lying,
Is that someone always gets hurt.
Even if it was a mistake,
It still makes them feel like dirt.

Chances are you’ll never know how I really feel,
Chances are you’ll never learn about how my heart does reel.
