Technology to consider in 2010

This would clearly be anything to do with 3-D

This is the next field for anything to do with computing and IT in general. By this I mean we will soon be using 3-D screens as a way of seeing anything on a computer screen.

With the success of the big film Avatar, the industry seems to have delivered a golden dream of being able to see things in three dimensions.

Science fiction has been filled over the years with idea of being able to see a solid image appear before us. The most famous being the Princess leaving her message on R2-D2 in Star Wars.

But this idea has always grabbed the imagination of the public, with the thought that you will one day be able to see your distant relatives standing in the middle of your living room only feet away.

On a more practical scale I think the information presented on a flat screen will soon be displayed as solid images before our eyes. We will see pages of a file as if they were floating in the room before us. Making it easier to sort a select what we really want and not what we end up with.

Sure enough there will be many small devices that are a cross over from the Iphone and the laptop. But the information will still be presented on a small screen in our hands. With three dimensional glasses and screen, that same information will dance before us like never before.

The human brain can take in a huge amount of information in a short space of time. If it is displayed before us we can soon pick and choose what we want for ourselves. Any web page has only seconds before someone browsing makes up their minds and moves on. In an information hungry age, this is the next natural evolution.

At the moment we have to go to a large cinema complex to see the technology, but soon this will find it's way into our homes. Many clubs and bars are set to find the money for the very expensive TV sets, which will be on sale very soon.

In time the price will be driven down and we will all be able to afford one. The demand for this type of technology will be so sort after that the market will open up in this direction to accommodate it. It will be market driven.
