Poetry: Appreciate your life

by Tony Gomes

Created on: February 07, 2010

Prisoner of my own domain

On strings, Mary we go around

Forty hours ogling on the tic tock

And forty more winks frazzling over this foe,

Plucking arrayed reality, feeling droughty

Yet I shall abundantly thank thy holy one

For life short-comings and un-predicaments

FREEDOM I looked everywhere

Just shrinking evermore wherever I go

Reminiscing old times memory of a childhood

Yearn forever to be young

With the ball never in my courtyard

Trying getting ahead, I struggle keeping up

Endless run, tired and wary dexterity

I shall perhaps envy the dead and the unborn

For life is more than I bargained for

Moreover, my own life despised

But with hope one must cope

Being a strong undefiled soldier

In this battlefield of emptiness

Against the unknown in the vast dense

We siege to devour blindfold
