by Hanny A

When caring for dry hair one has to be extremely careful as dry hair is more prone to breakages, split ends and is also very delicate. You may naturally have dry hair or it may be dry because of the hair colourings, heat style electrical and relaxers. There are many products on the market that claim to care for dry hair but can contain many chemicals which damages dry hair even further. An alternative is to use home remedies to repair dry hair.

Hot Oil Treatment
This treatment nourishes hair and restores it; it will definitely be a wonderful treatment for all types of dry hair. A blend of oils such as olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil and sweet almond oil is a great one to start with. Section your hair off and apply the oil making sure to coat every single hair, using a comb will distribute the oil as well. Cover your hair with a hot towel and another towel on top to reduce the heat loss. You can leave the treatment in for as long as you like, 45 minutes is a good recommendations. However, some prefer to leave it overnight for an intense treatment for dry hair.

Oils for drying
A simple yet effective of treating dry hair, is to implement oils into your hair drying process. You can choose any oils of your chose, however the best that do not have powerful smells are; grapeseed oil, olive oil and sweet almond oil. In addition, they are very healthy for your skin. When drying your hair, instead of using a blow dryer, or vigorously drying it with a towel which can damage hair. Squeeze the excess oil with a towel gently, and let air dry. When it is damp, you can use oils to protect the hair and give it a healthy shine. A great way to make it extremely smooth it to part the hair into four sections and apply a tiny amount of oil just to coat the hair. Put the sections into four tight buns and let the drying process finish. This will smoothen the hair, protect it yet also moisturise it at the same time.

Henna
If you love colouring your hair, using henna is a great natural way to go. Make sure to use 100% natural and one of good quality, as other may contain chemicals such as ammonia. Furthermore, make sure to test it first in case as some may have a reaction to it.

Dry hair should be properly looked after, using natural products to minimise the chemicals on your hair as they can cause more damage than good. Furthermore, heat should not be applied to dry hair as this damages it as well, only use it for special occasions and make sure to use a protector spray to protect your hair from the heat. If you want to start caring for your hair, split ends should always be trimmed off as this doesn’t promote any hair growth and doesn’t make your hair look great. So if you want beautiful hair, start afresh and cut off all the split ends and start using home remedies to care for dry hair.
