First dates can often be very nerve racking. Your hoping that the date will go well. Will I look good to him? Will there be any chemistry between us. These are just some of the questions you have, especially when you are trying out online dating. That's what I did a few years back. Let me share my story.
I met a little old lady about 64 years of age at bingo one night. She was getting really frustrated when we starting chatting. She sat across the table from me. Now after that particular game we were playing, she looked up at me and said, " I should have stayed home and talked to my boyfriend half the night." I thought to my self, she's got a boyfriend and I'm 45 and alone. What's wrong with me? I asked my self. Then I said to her "well spending time with your man would be more exciting than this place about now." She then preceded to tell me a little about him, and that she met him online. That they have been dating about 6 months. That started me to thinking about trying online dating.
The next day I joined one of the chat rooms, and men started talking to me. Wow this was fun. I soon learned I had to weed out the good from the bad (those who just wanted to know your bra size instead of saying hello and introducing themselves.) If you couldn't say hello and introduce yourselve I wouldn't give you the time of day. So as time past, I met a couple of guys that I chatted with regularly, and the conversation was good. We progressed to chatting by phone. Then finally we decided to meet. This is where Mike comes in at.
Mike and I had some really good conversations. We exchanged pictures, and then decided to meet. We chose to have lunch and met at a restaurant. I arrived early, got a table ordered a Pepsi while I waited for him. I was a little nervous, but not much. In walked Mike. He saw me and walked over to my table, and introduce himself. Now Mike is white and I am black. And he knew this before he met me, but I still think this had something to do with his nervousness. He gave me a gentle kiss, placed a gift he brought me, in my hands, and then sat at the table. So far I like him. But his hands were shaking uncontrollably. Then he grabbed my Pepsi without thinking and started to drink it. I smiled at him, then called the waitress over to bring me another Pepsi. He realized what he had done, turned really red in the face and apologized. I reached over, held his hands and told him to relax, and I promised not to bite him. He smiled. After that he relaxed and we shared some buffalo wings. A good first date after all.
