On Edge
After all the blood and tears
At the edge of it all
Theres someone who hears
Me scream I'm ready to fall!
And on the hand and on the knee
They come begging
Distraught by what they see
Their world, crumbling
Reduced to insignificance
They feel their thoughts are worthless
But they still take that chance
Trying to make everything harmless
Turned away from the one
I surround myself in the dark
And I think everything is done
No longer can I be, the happy lark
But when the warm embrace comes
Fueled by tears of anguish, fears of the end
The sound of life hums
A perfect tune, something thats not just for a friend
The tune that can only come when one is complete
Found itself in another
Not just a pleasant warmth, but a great heat
Not like that from a sister or brother
Such great heat yet no burns
This is from the true lover
And this is what makes my turns
And it shall not let me turn back to the cliff, never
