Who is my hero, that is one question I find terribly difficult to answer. Throughout my life so many people have held the title of my hero I have trouble narrowing that massive list down to one. To choose one person from so many almost seems a dishonor to them all. For simplicities sake however, I will choose one of the many worthy candidates, Adolph Hitler. Possibly the most controversial person I could have chosen to write on. I chose this man for many reasons. Aside from his monumental achievements, both good and bad, being so controversial, justifying him as my hero is thus much more challenging and as such far more mentally stimulating. This man ordered some of the most heinous crimes in history, and although many more heinous crimes have been committed his are the most well known. His achievements benefiting his people are so overshadowed by his crimes against humanity that they are almost unknown. Hitler was a patron of the arts; he brought Germany from complete and utter chaos to become arguably, the most powerful country in the world at his time. No man has been both so revered, and so hated, by so many. For these reasons, Adolph Hitler is my hero.
I cannot think of one man more hated than Hitler. This reason alone could cause him to be my hero. This man had at one time, an entire nation, and an entire people under his influence. Not only did this man rise from a poor orphan to the become Fuehrer, he had almost the entire world fooled. Hitler was chosen man of the year in "Time" magazine here in the United States. How could this have happened if he had not deserved the title? No matter his horrible deeds, he still did many wonderful things that go unnoticed, ignored, or denied. The entire controversy surrounding this one man, despised by millions that know naught more than his name, these reasons alone are enough to elevate him to hero. How can you not at least respect a man that can have so much influence so far into the future?
Hitler joined the National Socialist German Workers Party and swiftly rose to power. During a time when Germany was suffering from a depression that made our Great Depression look like prosperity, Hitler was able to bring this flailing country back to its feet and even further along than previously. If Adolph had not been so radical in his views, and actions against the Jewish peoples, he would be one of the most revered men in history. This man brought a country that had less than nothing,
