Stress relates to change, which is every where. We need to be able to manage our stress. There are definite ways in which stress can negatively affect your life making it necessary to learn ways to turn stress into a positive thing.
When a person is experiencing stress their body goes through physical changes. Your glands, muscles and organs act like they are going to fight a battle.
You can use stress to motivate your self to get things done but directed the wrong way or excessive stress can cause you to have a breakdown. A person can become mentally ill, fearful or depressed. You can experience memory, emotional and appetite loss.
When you become a parent you go through more stress than those who don't have children, because many parents don't have support or resources. It is important to know that everyone handles stress in various ways. Which makes it important to be aware of signs of stress. It may only take one small incident to occur to create just enough stress for a person to have a very bad reaction.
If you notice that you feel overwhelmed, or stress becomes intense lasting for a long periods of time approach stress by taking immediate reaction. Relax, take a deep breath, acknowledge your feelings, and know the reality of the situation. See in your mind how you want whats currently happening to you, then do something to better it.
When a person is stressed out it is usually caused by their situation changing, feeling like there is nothing they can do to change it. When a person feels like there is to much to do it may seem like there just isn't enough time to do it or that it may not work. They probably tried something that did not work before.
The most important way a person can get relief from stress is to exercise. That leads to you being all you can be for the people in your life. Remember to, that when you take care of your needs in a positive way, you wont rely so much on others and you become capable of doing more for yourself.
The workplace can also be a very stressful environment. When the relationship between supervisors and employees are negative it creates an opportunity for improvement. But this is by far not the only source of stress in the workplace. One can be faced with the possibility of lay offs, or if they are working with equipment that is in need of repair and makes it dangerous to work with. If nothing is done about requests to fix it can cause a sense of powerlessness. Excessive overtime because of staff cutbacks puts more pressure on a person to get the job done in a hurry, causing a lack of production.
When you feel like your loosing your self confidence, or you see that you are irritable, withdrawn, and less productive in work, and home, know that stress is a learned behavior and it is very possible to learn how you allow stress to affect your life.
