Hell was created for Lucifer (Satan) and all of his followers when God threw him out of heaven. The reason Lucifer got thrown out of heaven was he begin to thank he was greater than his creator. Hell was not intended for people but people decided to follow after their own wills which put them on the side of Satan. God said we are to turn from our wicked ways and worship him. God wants man to put their faith in Him not themselves or Satan. God said if we loved the world and lived for the world then we were lovers of pleasure rather than God. God did create hell but the people put themselves in Hell not God. He is a loving God and he merciful to forgive if we ask him to through his son Jesus and do our best not to repeat the same sin.

Believing God is merciful and loving is not enough to get to heaven with. We have to believe it, yes, but we have to live it as well. We are all God's creations therefore we can never be greater than our creator. If we fail to follow God's laws everyday of our lives and repent every day for our shortcomings and sins and seek Him out and follow him daily. We put ourselves in the Hell God created for Satan. Not our will but God's will in our lives.

Can a loving God create Hell. God gave his only begotten, that whosoever believes in him shall not parish but have everlasting life. For God sent his son into the world to condemn the world but that through him the world might be saved. (John 3:16-17) Do we want to be saved? Saved from what you ask? Mostly from ourselves and our sinful nature, to worship God the Father, God the Son fully and completely with no interference from our will. Man's will is of a sinful nature, God said we are all born into sin and uless we repent and put our faith in God we will not be saved. So yes of course a loving God can create Hell as easily as we can create punishment for our own children. Of course our punishment would not be for eternity for our children but we are not the One True Living God that created us in the first place.

When as a christian I look out over the people and hear what they have to say about God or Jesus. There are so many that think they are going to heaven because they are GOOD people. 'BEEP" wrong answer. None shall enter into the kingdom of God lest they repent and follow God's will by faith all the way to the end. This is the way to get to heaven.
