"Vulnerable Past"
You, who once made her heart beat,
Never broke her fall, but watched her fall through,
She lived for you, fool,
She'll never die for you.
So shallow you are, the shell of a soul,
Your gluttony thwarted the guilt,
In the past, you were her fresh sunlight,
With no sun, the flowers may wilt.
Salvage her petals from below,
When they fell, you didn't take heed,
Not every season blooms a new blossom,
Every season old blossoms will bleed.
If memories can work as a poison,
Then the present can work as a cure,
What's past cannot be rewritten,
And the future is forever obscure.
All of this, you have constructed,
And now she is tearing it down,
No longer can you hold her under,
No longer by you she'll be bound.
