Undergoing a gastric bypass or bariatric surgery entails a lot of responsibilities. Though it would enable you to lose most of your pounds especially on the first year after the surgery, gastric bypass should not be considered as the end all in your problem with weight.  Modification of your lifestyle especially your eating habit plays a significant role in the success of your quest for a healthy weight as an unguarded eating may cause serious complications that may send you back to the hospital bed.

As the gastric bypass made your stomach much smaller than before, your food intake would now be very limited. In fact, after the gastric bypass, your new, smaller stomach can only hold a volume of about 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons before it stretches over time to be able to hold 4 to 8 ounces or about ½ to 1 cup, at a time. With such, it is very important to try some recipes for gastric bypass that are rich, even in small servings, in all the necessary nutrients that your body needs to function well, especially those which are rich in protein, calcium, folate and B vitamins and at the same time, are low in sugar, fat as well as fiber.

After one to two weeks of taking purely liquid supplements, you will then be required to stick into the pureed food diet before gradually progressing into the soft food diet and finally into the regular diet.

The following are the top ten highly recommended recipes after gastric bypass.
