What is the meaning of life?

by John Hewitt

Created on: February 05, 2010

This is the question; this is the one thing that ultimately everyone wants to know: what is the meaning of life? Hidden throughout this article are clues and hints that will give you the answer; if you really want to know.

You may not even want to know the answer to the meaning of life; you may be perfectly happy with things as they are. Obviously this could be the meaning of life itself. Unfortunately not all of us are completely happy and satisfied all of the time and so we keep on search for that which will make us happy and fulfilled.

Another way at looking at this is to realise that all of our searching, whether this means careers or relationships or money and so on, is actually ourselves looking for the meaning of life. Realising this makes life a little simpler as we then stop the searching outside of ourselves for all of the answers. Eventually we then start to turn inwards to find the meaning of life and make new discoveries about ourselves. The meaning of life then becomes a journey of self discovery and self awareness that can take us many fantastic journeys. Here then we start to see the meaning of life as it unfolds within and then extends out into the world around us. Eventually we meld with that which we seek and so we become the meaning of life itself.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed and so we first start to catch glimpses of the possibility of the eternal self and this puts our physical perspective into a different light. X-rays cannot be seen except through their results and so like this energy we start to know ourselves better through our own actions and the way we operate in the world. The meaning of life then becomes even more personal as we start to see the results of our own actions in the world around us. Every action we take has a reaction and every thought we send out results somewhere at sometime.

Needless searching for what will never make us happy is what one could see as a wasted life; however if we start to discover these truths within us we actually stop searching and we start truly living. Since we no longer have a gap to fill we can then simply be and extend the essence of who we are. In every situation and in every circumstance we can jump into the moment and extend that moment in a unique and wonderful way. On every level we then start to experience radical change; although the results may be subtle to the reasoning mind.

Never forget the essence of who you are. Once you rediscover this you will soon add a whole new
