I really love to watch this show. It is full of lessons to learn in our everyday lives. It made us realize that love and respect for each other in the family counts most than any material thing in this world. The Waltons are poor family but they survived because they helped and support each other. LOVE is the strong bond that keep them all together no matter what.
How the Waltons represented the model of a large family? They loved and support each other. The boys helped their father in their lumber business and never ask a pay for their labor. Unlike in todays generation, children who are helping their parents ask pay for their labor per hour. As I can see in the Waltons family, they never ask their father to pay them when they work with him. There are times that the business is tough and the boys find jobs working for other people in order to earn and help their parents. The girls helped their mother too in the house work. They love to work with grandma and mother in the kitchen. This is a good example for mothers at home to teach their girls the household chores. In today's generation, most girls don't know about household duties because the mother did not teach them how to do it The Waltons Parents John and Olivia were hands on parents. They know every detail of their children's lives even if there are 7 children in the family, they were able to follow up each of their whereabouts.
John and Olivia showed very good parenting to their 7 children. They will spend time talking to them When there is a problem. they will never leave the problem unsolved. The kids are trained to tell the truth no matter what. They are taught to respect and support each other. When one of the kids has a problem, everybody is involve to find solution to that problem. John and Olivia's parenting style set good role model for all parents whether in a large family or small. Giving quality time to their children. They never prioritize work to obtain comfortable life. Even if they are struggling for a living that doesn't matter as long as they are all together in the family.
The Waltons children understand each other though their characteristics differ in many ways but they learned to support each other.'s interests. There are times that they have misunderstanding very normal to all siblings but they know how to accept mistakes and ask forgiveness. They also know how to fight for the right. Their parents taught them to do the right thing in any circumstance.
I learned a lot from this show. The love of family, respect and understanding to each other. It teaches us that being together in the family supporting each other is more precious than material things. LOVE is stronger than money.
