Guys, I am going to let you into one of the most closely guarded secrets of having a smooth,  comfortable and laid back shave. After you read this, you will wonder why you have gone your whole life so far without having used this technique.

You will wonder why you have stood around in a freezing bathroom on a winter's morning with shaving foam creeping into the corners of your mouth and up your nose. You will wonder why you had rapidly cooling water splashing around everywhere. You will wonder why you craned your neck at all sorts of angles to see in the mirror if you had got rid of each and every last strand of stubble.

I'll be straight to the point! Shave in the bath!

OK, already I hear half you guys screaming out “I already do that”, even though you would never admit it so openly to the guys in the pub. After all, the notion of shaving in the bath has too many connotations of femininity – the bath is where the ladies shave their legs.

But there is a little more to it fellas, so read on. I really mean read on till the end, as that is where the best kept secret of men's shaving is revealed

For those of you who haven't tried it yet, here is the most obvious method.

You simply sit in a nice hot bath and shave away to your heart's content. You might even get away with not using any shaving soap, foam or oil. There is none of that messing about with scalding hot flannels and towels, in an attempt to prepare the skin. The additional heat and steam of the bath will do this job of helping to open the pores and soften the hairs, making the razor's job easier. While we are on the subject of razors, for the few out there reading this who may be lacking in the common sense department, DO NOT use an electric razor to shave in the bath, even if it is a portable battery one.

Not only will the job of shaving in a nice warm bath be easier on the razor, it is easier on the face and there is a good chance you are not going to get any sort of rash. Also, you are going to be in a warm comfortable and relaxing environment, and you might even find the process of having a shave quite enjoyable. If you are able to make the time in the morning for this, you are going to feel much more relaxed at work for the rest of the day.

Now for the real secret.

You won't need any shaving soap, foam or oil. Just use the water in the bath as a medium for shaving!
