Poetry: The razor blade

by Karissa Mcclellan

Created on: February 04, 2010

I have no emotions,
I have no soul,
My only friend,
Is the razor blade,
So shiny,
So cold.

The love I once felt,
The heart,
We once shared,
All now gone,
All was shattered.

The cold blade,
Tracing the soft skin,
Leaving behind,
A long red line,
The line of fire,
Makes it possible,
For me to feel again,
The pain,
Brings adrenaline,
Which in turn,
Helps me breathe,
Helps me relax.

You see the scars,
Not knowing what they are,
Not knowing how they got there,
Not seeming to care.

My heart aching,
Every time I see you,
Every time you,
Hold me close,
My heart is nothing,
But a big ol' hole in my chest,
Why can't you be merciful,
And rip my heart out,
That way it doesn't hurt anymore.

The cold blade,
Dripping with warm blood,
My skin throbbing,
Where the blade kissed it,
My arm now with a mouth,
Wide open a sighing.

Blood dripping,
To the floor,
Oh crap,
There's someone,
At the door.
